About Downsizing

The inspiration for Downsizing came from deeply personal experiences that highlighted the need for affordable, compassionate moving and care solutions during life's transitions. One pivotal moment was with my own family, when my grandmother needed to move into assisted living.

On moving day, surrounded by her grandkids and great-grandkids, my grandmother met us with a mix of emotions, saying, “Which one of you grandchildren will sing at my funeral? This will be the death of me.”

Unbeknownst to her, the move had been a carefully planned decision made months earlier, influenced by her early onset of Alzheimer’s. That day, I realized how vital it is to approach these moments with sensitivity, patience, and respect—not only for the logistics but for the emotions and memories tied to them.
